Kiki is a marvel. She chews intermittently on things, but nothing compared to how her sister would do. Yeyda put everything, EVERYTHING in her mouth. Granted we are just at the beginning of the teething process, but so far she is doing phenomenally well.
Kiki hasn’t drooled excessively, cried constantly, chewed incessantly to indicate pain or discomfort. Every once and a while she’ll get a hold of a washcloth and chew it till it’s soaked. I have noticed though that the raspberry pacifier makes her more angry than comforted. Yeyda would have loved that fat, bumpy thing. I guess it just goes to show the differences between babies.
Kiki now as three teeth popping through her little gums and the corner of a fourth pushing through. I was feeding her little Gerber puff snacks when she bit down on my finger. That’s when I noticed that she had a tooth on top. When I took a closer look you could see how red and irritated her little gums were. It’s amazing that she has been so happy.
Yesterday morning I did notice that she was chewing a lot on her hand so I got out the teething gel. Usually I like to use the homeopathic kind, but I couldn’t find it. I gave her one with a little bit of benzocaine. Oh, the ugly face she made. I’m sure the combination of the taste and the sensation was off-putting at first.
